Adalay holds an Associate’s Degree in Kinesiology and Health and brings valuable experience in a variety of leadership roles, including work as a personal trainer, receptionist, and assistant manager.

She and her husband Mark are active members of Redwood Valley Community Church, where she teaches monthly in the Tiny Tots 2–5 yr old program.

She has a deep love for the Lord, a heart for ministry, and a strong commitment to serving others. We’re blessed to have her join our DVCS family and look forward to the impact she will make in the lives of our students!

Kim Odneal
Junior Kindergarten Teacher

Kim is a Sonoma County native. She graduated from Healdsburg High School in 1981. After high school she attended Santa Rosa Junior College. She received her AS degree in early childhood education in Mendocino College. She also worked in the medical field for many years as a nurse's aide and worked for family practice offices doing medical billing.

Kim, her husband Ron, and 9-month old daughter Breanna moved to Potter Valley in 1993. It was their desire to raise their children in a small-town atmosphere. Their son, Christopher was born 4 years later. Kim taught Sunday school for many years in their Potter Valley church and in Ukiah. Kim and her husband have been involved in the Potter Valley School and community activities for many years.

Kim worked at a Christian preschool in Ukiah for 5 years as a lead teacher. She then became the Director while still serving as a lead teacher for 11 years.

She is passionate about giving her students a good foundation in Christ and a love of learning for their future. She is dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every student.

Teaching and loving students and their families is her true passion. She is delighted to be on staff at Deep Valley Christian School as the Junior Kindergarten Teacher.

Julie Davidson

Julie has been teaching at Deep Valley since 2018. She has her degree in Arts and Humanities as well as Early Childhood Education. Julie is very passionate about teaching children academics and about God's great love for them. She loves to be creative, interactive, and have a great deal of hands-on learning in the classroom while teaching.

She always desires to create a classroom environment that feels more like a family than a class, having seen year after year that students learn more easily when they are encouraged and positively supported by not only their teacher but by their classmates as well.

Julie, her husband, and two children live in Willits where she is also actively involved in ministry at Agape Bible Church as the Women's Ministry Coordinator and Worship Team vocalist/guitarist. She has a great passion for music and loves to find creative ways to use it in the Kindergarten classroom.

Julie is looking forward to a great year in Kindergarten and all that God has in store.

Leatha Pyle
1st Grade Teacher

Leatha Pyle brings over a decade of experience working with children and young adults across Mendocino County, including students with autism, ADHD, and giftedness. She has served in both public and private educational settings, homeschooled her own children, and taught music privately for over 15 years. These varied experiences have shaped her deep commitment to nurturing each child’s strengths and a love for learning.

She came to know the Lord at a young age and now serves at Grace Community Church in Willits. Her classroom is one of compassion, curiosity, and growing faith. Ms. Pyle sees it as a blessing to partner with parents and walk alongside her students in their spiritual and academic journeys.

Melissa Gowan
2nd Grade Teacher

Melissa attended Humboldt State University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies Elementary Education and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Humboldt State University. She also has her Master’s Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University.

She graduated from Humboldt State University and began her first teaching job. Melissa was thrilled to teach 2nd graders in Laytonville for several years. She then resigned and became a full-time mom. Melissa returned to the 2nd grade classroom at Deep Valley Christian School in 2021.

Melissa is energetic, knowledgeable, and hard-working. She loves reading and shares that joy with her students. In addition to teaching academics, she is looking forward to being able to include teaching from the Bible; ensuring a solid foundation of faith, empathy, and love. Our children need to understand the importance of God and having Christ as their Savior. Melissa is honored to be a part of the Deep Valley Christian School team.

Cheri Beuving Tussey
3rd Grade Teacher

Cheri Tussey was born and raised in Redwood Valley. She attended Deep Valley from Kindergarten through 12th grade and was in the first high school graduating class in 1998. After high school she attended Simpson University, UNCW Wilmington, and finally earned her BA in Liberal Studies from the University of Massachusetts- Boston. Since then, she has used her love of teaching to educate her own five children. Two are adults, one is in high school, and the youngest two attend Deep Valley. Cheri and her husband, Micah, are active members of Redwood Valley Community Church. Cheri teaches and directs the Cubbies program and the Fellowship Ministry, while Micah volunteers for anything that involves technology . Cheri has always dreamed of teaching at Deep Valley and so is delighted to be on staff since Fall 2018 doing what she loves at the school that is so dear to her heart!

Cristina Cifuentes
4th Grade Teacher

Cristina joins Deep Valley Christian School with over 16 years of teaching experience in the classroom (public & private), online classes, & hybrid homeschool. She has had a lifelong love for working with children. She grew up in San Diego, where she was also active in children's ministry and AWANA programs. Her passion for education and ministry continues to shape her calling.

Cristina earned her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies degree, a minor in music, and her teaching credential from San Diego Christian College. This is also where she met her husband where their shared love of music brought them together. She remains involved in worship ministry, often playing piano alongside her husband. This year, Cristina is excited to teach at DVCS while supporting her husband in his new roles as Associate Pastor at New Life Community Church and math teacher at Ukiah High School. Their son will also be attending DVCS, making this a special year for their family.

In her free time, Cristina enjoys spending time with loved ones, hosting friends, traveling, and playing the piano.

Tiffany Perry
5th Grade Teacher

Tiffany is enjoying living in Mendocino County after residing in Santa Rosa for most of her life. She grew up in the countryside and is grateful she and her husband have the opportunity to raise their four children in the beautiful Ukiah Valley.

After graduating from Ursuline High School Tiffany received her Bachelor of Science in Child & Adolescent Psychology at Saint Mary’s College with a Minor in Montessori Thought. She then attended Sonoma State University for her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.

Tiffany has worked as a substitute teacher in preschool through sixth grades, taught preschool and second grade and most recently served as a preschool director for several years. She is excited to return to the classroom and especially anticipating teaching fourth grade.

Tiffany and her husband had been active in the same church for over twenty years prior to moving to Ukiah in 2021. Their family now enjoys participating in events, supporting ministry opportunities and worshipping at The River church in Ukiah.

Tiffany’s family loves to camp and travel and she hopes to go to further places with her children. Her experiences include travel abroad to Italy, Japan and Tanzania as well as domestic travel around the United States.

Tiffany is looking forward to how God will use her for His glory in the Deep Valley community.

Randi Walker
Middle School Language & History Teacher

We’re excited to welcome Randi Walker to the DVCS middle school team! A California native, Randi holds a Bachelor's degree from Azusa Pacific University and a Master’s degree from Colorado Christian University. She spent a decade training and developing curriculum in areas such as leadership and communication before God called her into classroom teaching.

Her journey to DVCS began in 2021, when her son attended the school and she felt God planting a seed. After completing coursework towards her K-8 credential, she decided God was calling her away from her 14 year career to homeschool her boys and now to teach at Deep Valley.

Randi loves spending time outdoors with her two young boys, exploring God’s creation, making music, and worshiping together. Her family attends Redwood Valley Community Church, where she is actively involved. She is looking forward to a fantastic school year with our middle school students.

Trina Pabst
Middle School Science, Math, & Bible Teacher

Trina Pabst joins DVCS with a passion for science, mathematics, Bible, and STEM education. With 22 years of teaching experience in both private school and individualized instruction, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a heart for students. Known for her open communication with both parents and students, Trina values feedback and views teaching as a collaborative journey.

At the core of her teaching is a calling to guide young people in discovering their identity in Christ and grounding their lives in God’s Word. She actively serves at Calvary Chapel in Willits, where she teaches women's Bible study and participates in local outreach ministries. A faithful member of the church, she lives out her belief in praying with, serving, and loving the body of Christ.

Trina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a chemistry emphasis. Her scientific work includes research in genetics, electron microscopy, and environmental cleanup innovations. Outside the classroom, she enjoys studying Scripture, classical piano, gardening, and “chemistry in the kitchen.”

Kelsey Rose
Music/Art Teacher

Kelsey Rose is a Willits native and graduated from Willits High School. She began her college education at Mendocino College. She had a fervent desire to complete her education at a Christian institution and she transferred to Simpson University where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance.

In addition to her love for music, her passions include art, nature and being with friends and family. She loves the Lord and treasures her two sons. She feels it is a special privilege to guide, educate and love the students at DVCS.

Daniel Walker

Daniel is our PE teacher for Kindergarten-6th grade. He is a dad of 2 students who attend DVCS. He is passionate about fitness and all of the benefits of physical exercise which leads to good physical and mental health. He is excited to be joining the DVCS family.
